I hope they get potentially toned down some in the future (maybe not a reinforcement of like 8 guys every single turn lmao), but it was definitely a ton of fun once I got the hang of it and realized that reinforcements coming in wouldn't immediately engage Guardsmen and Servitors, but would just get closer for about 2-3 turns. The new enemies are cool as hell too, and the new marine class is fun. Firing a multimelta that deletes all armor in an AOE, just charging forward and sending enemies to hell, a melee attack that does 5 friggin stun, it is nuts. These missions are definitely the roughest in the game IMO, the Reapers and even endgame missions aren't this brutal. It plays like a dread, absolutely wreaking havoc.

I also feel like support fire from the Dread should be able to trigger on Guardsmen shots but oh well. So many hard packs close together while I have next to real power to meet them. I thought about using a Librarian, but his teleport distance just wasn't cutting it as the map is so large, and I needed very one of my Knights to be able to hold their own in combat. I've been retrying a hard mission and it must clearly be for the dreadnought. I also definitely wouldn't have managed without Gate of Infinity teleporting my dudes around when I needed it. Instead of splitting my forces up too much, I only split them between 2 sections, and then went all in on the third section that I let 3 reinforcements build up in.Įnemy krak grenades suck hard.

Once I realized that a LOT of the reinforcements were those guys who had the chance to parry melee attacks, I just had my techmarines solo one portion of the map by setting up constant overwatch and enrage bubbles. I used the T8 Dreadnought, 2 Techmarines (1 T8 1 T7), 1 Interceptor (T9) and 1 Justicar (t7). Thankfully, after restarting 3 times, I was able to get through, even without losing any guardsmen.
